Welcome to Kundalini Yoga Festival Australia. KYFA is a not for profit event to celebrate community and conscious living. Our next festival is Friday 29 September – Monday 2 October 2017 and is the only event of its kind in Australia to offer a 3 day festival experience all about Kundalini Yoga, meditation, community and healthy living.

Thank you to all who took the time to provide feedback following our first ever Kundalini Yoga Festival in 2015 and we’re very grateful for your thoughts and insights. This is a community event and your input is important to the success and growth of future festivals. While many of you loved the location at Broken Bay, there were many issues raised around the logistics of getting there and the food. This has greatly influenced our decision to move the location of the festival in 2017.

Introducing, Mangrove Yoga Ashram as the new setting for our 2017 festival. The Ashram is the perfect place for our next festival, set amongst beautiful bush land with a river running alongside the property and only an hour from Sydney and Newcastle. The Ashram has a working organic farm, which provides over half the fresh food that is prepared by experienced vegetarian chefs. Established over 40 years ago, Mangrove Yoga Ashram has had plenty of time to create a peaceful, conscious environment, which will serve and uplift the energy of our festival.

There are purpose built yoga rooms for our workshops and we’ll have a large marque as the main stage and for Sadhana every morning. The Ashram’s facilities can accommodate 400 people, either in small dorm rooms, camping, or campervans. Beyond that number, there’s the option for people to stay outside the ashram and travel into the festival daily.

We’re really excited about the new venue, and feel it’s an opportunity to go deeper and build on the energy which we created together at the first festival. Together we planted the seed on intention, now is the time to water that seed, a time to obey the higher self, a time to serve all, love unconditionally and be YOU. We look forward to seeing you and sharing another amazing, uplifting experience.

As an alcohol-free and community-based event, the festival is open to all and families are welcome to attend. Australian, NZ and International teachers and musicians deliver a broad range of yoga and meditation workshops suitable for beginners through to advanced. A dedicated kids program will be on offer throughout the weekend too.

yogisIn this ever growing stressful and busy world we live in, with more pressure and more financial worry, we need tools to de-stress and help us move through these changing times. The festival offers a holistic experience of a healthier way of life – it’s not just about yoga and meditation, but also about cultivating a greater consciousness of the food we eat, our family, relationships and sense of community.

A regular yoga and meditation practice can deliver significant health benefits and Kundalini Yoga in particular has been proven to assist people with Alzheimer’s, addictions and depression. Research studies have also shown that people who participate regularly in yoga and meditation build communities that are less stressed, happier, healthier and safer.

      Hi Kylie
Great to hear you are interested in attending. We have a women’s workshop happening on the Sunday which might suit. At this stage we are looking into having one prenatal class over the weekend too but it depends on demand. Here’s a link to an article on Kundalini Yoga during pregnancy you may find of interest too –

This is the only Kundalini Yoga festival in Australia but there are many others overseas including Sat Nam Fest and Summer Solstice in the US. You can easily find them using Google.
